Family-run concrete and civil contractors from Cavan
Roger has been in concrete since the eighties. In 2020 he and his son Anthony took over A&J, and they have kept it deliberately small since — the two of them and a crew of two, rather than a name on a truck and whoever is available that week.
It means Roger answers his own phone, quotes the job himself, and is usually on site while it is being poured. If something needs deciding halfway through, you are talking to the person who will be standing in it, not to an office. That is also why we turn work down when the diary is full: we would rather lose a job than hand it to someone we have not worked with.
Who you'll deal with
Roger takes the call and prices the work. Anthony runs the crew. Between them they are on nearly every job.
Why we stay small
Four people means we know what every job looks like without a meeting about it. It caps how much we take on, and we are fine with that.
What we take on
Driveways and slabs through to warehouse floors, and civil work on mine sites in SA, WA and the NT. If it is not our kind of job we will say so.
